HEKLA Baltic Ports LNG Forum in Vilnius
International experts came to discuss in Vilnius liquified natural gas and other significant developments in the EU energy markets.
On 2-3 June, the World Trade Institute with SC Klaipedos Nafta (the operator of Klaipeda liquefied natural gas terminal), Swiss National Centre in Competence, Trade Regulation (NCCR Trade Regulation) and association‚ Energy Reforms‘ under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania will organize in Vilnius, Lithuania an international energy forum titled, Energy reForum 2016.
The forum brought together leading government representatives, scholars and practitioners from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Ukraine and Lithuania to discuss the recent developments in the EU energy markets as well as challenges related to implementation of infrastructure projects. Participants of the event involve Prof. Thomas Cottier, a chairman / panelist of the WTO disputes and former general director of the World Trade Institute, Minister of Energy of Lithuania Rokas Masiulis, Prof Angus Johnston from the University of Oxford.
Within this year Energy reForum, HEKLA's Baltic Ports LNG Forum was held. HEKLA's Forum was conducted as a part of the HEKLA on-the-road campaing, dedicated to discuss the implementation of infrastructure projects for the development of LNG markets in the Baltic Sea region. SC Klaipedos Nafta is building in the Port of Klaipeda an onshore LNG reloading station. Helsinborg Port (Sweden) has plans to build a liquefaction plant with storage tank.
The HEKLA event was moderated by Mr. Emil Arolski, Project Manager of HEKLA Project. Latest developments on HEKLA project were presented by: Mr. Jonas Kimontas of Klaipedos Nafta, Mr. Roland Brodin of HELGA Project and Ms. Nelly Forsman of SSPA Sweden.
